What you can expect from me

  • My main service area is Spotsylvania, Fredericksburg, Stafford, Fauquier and Nokesville.

  • I will make every effort to be on time to the scheduled appointment, however occasionally the appointment before could run behind. If that is the case, I will call/text you to inform you of my eta.

  • My scheduling system will automatically text you an appointment reminder a few days before.

  • I continue to pursue furthering my education to ensure your horse gets the best possible service.

  • If you have any questions about your horse's hooves during the appointment I will be happy to explain, as well as what I'm doing to help your horse. I encourage clients to be educated about the health of the hoof.

  • I am happy to work with your vet either onsite or reading over the notes and X-rays.

  • I may ask to see how your horse moves and talk with the trainer to help achieve performance goals.

  • I am willing to work without client on property as long as the horse in either stalled or in a small area so I can catch easily. This is on a case my case basis; the first appointment requires the owner/holder to be present because I don't know the horse(s) and they don't know me. As long as everything runs smoothly, I will agree to doing them on my own.

What I expect from clients

  • Payment is due at time of service, unless otherwise discussed before appointment.

  • Maintaining a schedule is very important for the health of the horse. I like to make the next appointment before I leave (cell service permitting). Depending on the horses needs that could be anywhere between 4 to 8 weeks. If an appointment is not made before I leave it is up to the client to reach out directly to schedule.

  • Being present or having a knowledgeable holder.

  • Please have your horse caught and ready, this helps me get straight to work and keeps the day running smoothly.

  • If there is a change to the appointment such as a change in the number of horses or what work needs to be done, I need to know that in advance to the appointment.

  • No loose animals near or around the work truck. Livestock tend to rub and sometimes scratch their teeth on the vehicles (yes it has happened).

  • I am very willing to work with your equine if they are wiggly, nervous ext. However, I am not a trainer. If your horse is acting in a dangerous manner it could result in no services. It is the owner's responsibility to work with the horse or have a trainer involved.

  • Some horses may require sedation. I do not carry, sell or administer sedation. That is up to the owner to contact the veterinarian.

  • Just like you expect the farrier to show up to the appointment, we expect the owner/horse holder to show up to the appointment. I understand emergencies can happen, we all have them, but multiple no shows could result in being off the client list.

  • No shows, Bounced checks, and late payments can result in fees.
